Play Responsibly at DJ8
We want you to play responsibly at DJ8: as an adult, for entertainment, and only with money you do not need for anything else. If gambling stops feeling like fun, the organisations listed at the end of this page can help.
Adults 18 and Over Only
DJ8 accounts are only for people aged 18 or older. We verify the identity of each member to keep anyone under 18 off our floor and to prevent fraud, and the first withdrawal on any account waits for a standard identity check.
If you share a phone or computer with children or teenagers, log out when you finish and keep your password to yourself. We will never ask you for it.
Our age rule sits with the rest of our house rules. Laws on online gaming also differ from one country to the next, and our site terms ask you to check the law where you live before you play.
Keep It Entertainment
Casino games are built with a house edge, so over time the house keeps part of what is staked. Results come from the game providers, not from DJ8, and no betting system can change them. Think of what you deposit as the price of a cinema ticket, never as income.
- Decide on a spending amount and a time limit before you start, and stop when you reach either one.
- Play only with money left over after rent, bills, food and your family's needs are paid for.
- Never borrow, use credit or sell your belongings to fund play.
- Accept a loss when it happens, and do not chase it with more play.
- Take regular breaks, and stay away from the games when you are upset, tired or have been drinking.
- Do not raise your deposits just to reach or keep a VIP level.
Signs That Play Is Becoming a Problem
Look out for these signs in yourself or in someone close to you:
- You often spend more money or more time than you meant to.
- You need bigger stakes to feel the same excitement.
- You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
- You play to escape worries, stress or a low mood.
- You hide your play from family, or tell them it costs less than it does.
- You borrow money, fall behind on bills or drop other plans because of gambling.
- You come back the next day to try to win back what you lost.
One sign on its own is worth noticing. Several together are reason enough to stop for a while and speak to someone about it.
Free Help Outside DJ8
The organisations below have no connection to DJ8, and their support is free of charge. Gamblers Anonymous is focused on gambling. Befrienders and Talian Kasih are wider support lines, and you can contact them about yourself or about someone you are worried about.
- Befrienders Kuala Lumpur: trained volunteers who listen, in confidence, to anyone feeling lonely, overwhelmed or in despair. Their phone line is open around the clock, and they also help people who are worried about a friend or relative.
- Talian Kasih 15999: the toll-free care line of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. It answers day and night and can put you in touch with counselling.
- Gamblers Anonymous: a fellowship of people helping each other stop gambling, with meetings in person, online and by telephone. There are no dues or fees, and a separate fellowship, Gam-Anon, supports friends and family.
If someone is in danger right now, call 999.
